ORIC 1
« on: October 16, 2018, 10:54:49 am »
Picked up a 14" Sony CRT the other day from a charity shop for £5, thought I'd try out an old computer out on it.
Pulled an ORIC 1 out here I've got in storage, don't think this has ever been used, it was a curiosity I picked up from a car boot sale many years ago.
Needless to say 20 years on since I bought it, it still works.

Anyone on here used one of these? I started off with a ZX Spectrum 48k then a Commodore C64, I can't recall seeing these on sale.
Sadly no tape drive here, I will try make up a Din to 3.5mm cable and see if there are any tape images I can load in to it.

My phone didn't play nicely trying to take a picture of a CRT, the image is actually a lot sharper.

The first commercial computer I bought was a Tangerine Microtan 65 which is very closely related to the Oric 1.

Very nice.  :)
