Don't those people have to pay VAT though...I was under the impression that VAT is the main tax income for a country like the U.K.

Edit: I'm mistaken. Income tax is the single largest part with 155b£, VAT comes third place with 83.8b£.

Visas aren't decided by where you want to go

Visas are decided by where you came from

With a German or Sweeden passport, you can go easily for 157 countries

And if you are luck enough to have a Pakistan or Afghanistan passport, 24 countries is where you can go

Before you wallow in self-righteous smugness, please bear in mind that, on average, one has to earn over roughly £35,000 a year to be a net tax contributor in the UK.
You can hardly blame honest working people for a broken tax system. This is no different in other countries, by the way.

I am not blaming working people for anything, just pointing out that low paid workers are not net financial contributors to the exchequer in the UK.

This may be an uncomfortable or inconvenient fact to people of certain political persuasions, but a fact it is.

If he has enough savings to be able to support himself for awhile, it does sound daft to kick him out of the country: even though he isn't working, he'd sill be contributing to the economy by: buying food, paying the rent, paying taxes on goods etc. On the other hand, if he's begging or is on welfare then it's more understandable.

It absolutely is daft but I wonder why so many of your countrymen didn't have the same view towards all those Poles, Czechs, Slovaks that are working and paying taxes in the UK ...
Yes goodness knows. It's silly.

Careful about what you criticize elsewhere.
Why not? The UK is just as daft as anywhere else. Don't automatically assume everyone living in a certain country all thinks the same.

There is a very good comment.

This article is an absolute nonsense!!!
Anybody working in the private sector is most likely a net tax payer while those on benefits and public sector are net tax receivers.
The logic of this article to skip the obvious points is very disingenuous!

It's not uncomfortable, since the solution is easy. Just ban all low paid workers and your problem is gone.

This thread is going south. It has developed into basically a debate between human right vs local welfare, and whenever political things show here, threads get locked.

When did it become a human right to be able to pick any country on the plant and go and live there?

You are welcome to come here, providing you meet the minimum entry requirements, or just go to any bordering country and walk across the border. So many people here are originally from Zimbabwe, DRC, Congo ( there is a difference), Mozambique and pretty much every country north of here, plus a large number of people from all over the world.  Lot of Dutch backpackers at the moment as well, for some reason. If you are in the UK a holiday here is very cheap, even with the long flight.

Some would argue that comes automatically with being a human and born on this Earth, but that certainly is off-topic in this thread and quite possibly on these forums altogether.

At other words, that the low salaries workers are not profitable for being plundered.
It' s more simple reduce the taxes for example the income tax 20%    for all the people(low salaries to high salaries)

Jamaica, India, Pakistan and several others commonwealth countries need a visa for the UK.
