Thanks for the suggestions! Also found a board by Rohde & Schwarz, but only a picture, no name/model or sales listing, anyone know it?Looks like it could be cheap, using only a PIC it looks like.

Have you looked into the Tektronix course using an Arduino? It's all free if you buy an inexpensive Arduino kit or build your own circuits.
