Checking hotend temperature distribution with thermal imaging

Out of curiosity I scanned the hotend assembly of my printer with a Ti series thermal camera during operation.
It was interesting to see how heat actually spreads along the heater block and nozzle.
It also helped confirm whether the cooling fan was doing its job.
Has anyone else here tried using thermal cameras for 3D printer diagnostics?

I thought about borrowing one from work because I wanted to see how the filament gets laid down when doing a bridge. My problem is getting visual access because the clearances are so small, but I may yet try it.
