Creating component with pin/subpart swap (resistor network)
« on: April 09, 2026, 12:35:07 pm »
Hi,

i've recently changed layout design to Altium, so might be a trivial / "didn't know what to search for" problem. In the old software, this was a trivial problem.

I want to create a schematic library symbol for a resistor network containing four equal resistors.

The network has the following two swap options:
- pin swap a/b
- subpart swap a/b/c/d

I've created schematic and pcb symbol, but I can't find a way to pre-define the swap options for the lib part. Schematic has the option (parts action -> configure pin swapping), but I want to have this pre-defined in the lib.

Any idea how to do this?

Thanks for your help!

Regards,
Martin

In the schematic symbol editor part/pin swapping is configured under: Tools > Configure Pin Swapping

There should only be one component in the list so click on "Configure Component..."
