I've been using a Turnigy 1600mAh 3S 30C Lipo Pack to power an automated sailboat for a few weeks now but last night I tried to re-solder a connection to the 2nd cell's parallel wire (not sure what else to call it) and ran into something weird. It was extremely brittle and coated in a white powder, essentially rendering it useless. None of the other wires were like this which leads me to believe that it is from some corrosion of the cell.
I've ditched the battery as I can no longer charge it but I would still like to understand what happened so I don't do it again. Any thoughts?
