Hello, I would like to ask why is there a sudden current spike when the inductor current increases or decreases? Thank you.

Well you are driving a MOSFET from a perfect voltage source, and since MOSFET gate is basically a capacitor you'll be seeing immense current spikes. Add 10 to 100 ohms in series with the gate to stop this.
