I'm can't figure out how the pins on soviet radio schematics, on DIN-5/DIN-3 connectors, are numbered, looking from the inside/female end or from the outside/male end?
specifically, it's a VEF-stereo 101 schematic I'm looking at...
from my experience, it has been looking from the outside, but I'm not sure, I may be mistaken.
what do you think?:
For the female connector, the numbers increase clockwise when looking from the outside.
(Brings back lots of memories)
thank's a bunch, I'll have to write this in my list of useful tips
ok, but now thinking... I could've probably just googled that.
but thanks!
The Soviet connectors always had numbers with pin numbers written on them.
If your question is still relevant, I will find one of them and take a photo.

That was always my experience, too, in the UK. Repairing a 5-pin DIN to 5-pin DIN audio cable was the first soldering job I ever did
