Hi, I want to power BMW DSC sensor on my test bench, but don't know how much volts it requires.
How could I find voltage value needed? Is it possible that it is powered by regular +12V? Or it should be less?
Should I try to power it from low voltages and go up to see when its working?

Yes, its connected to F-CAN by 2 wires. In total DSC sensor has 4 wires: Ground, F-CAN+, F-CAN-, Supply. Supply wire is marked as 0.5mm2 thickness.

Does the information that module is using CAN BUS suggests its power supply voltage?
Our CANBUS sensors on GE/WABTEC locomotives are powered from +15vdc although they are simply automotive sensors which were used on cars at 12vdc. I think the BOSCH manufacturer spec says they will work accurately anywhere from 8vdc to 20vdc.
I took apart the sensor, sadly it had tough plastic and I have damaged the board parts. But I am still interested to know what voltage it needs (If I will buy another sensor) so here its internals:

TMS 980 - some kind of MCU by ATE

A476C - capacitor 16V
L4P 22 35V - capacitor

25LC040 - eeprom
Can this suggest the Voltage required?
GFE with general semiconductor logo is SMCJ26A 26V TVS diode, so this DSC sensor is made for "12V" board supply.
