Talked about it a long time ago before Elgato even had announced their Stream Deck.
It's been out now for a while and i have looked into it and i feel like i want to make my own version of Stream Deck to learn more about MCU, USB Interface, Touchscreen and design of PCB.
I feel i could do something similar to the Stream Deck but without using the same hardware.
Elgato is using a ATSAM9G45 Processor which from the specs seem very much overkill since it has a lots of features that isn't used at all like Ethernet, Audio, Card Readers among things.
What i am trying to figure out is what type of MCU to use since i only need to handle USB interaction between PC and the panel, Touchscreen on the Panel and some kind of memory storage to save the button images and such on the unit.
From my guesses, a Arduino isn't optimal based on the specs Elgato's unit and i also wanting a touchscreen of 5" or bigger (but not bigger then 10").
Any suggestions on what kind of MCU that would be capable of USB connection between PC and Unit, Touchscreen Panel and be able to handle memory for storage?
Preferable a MCU that doesn't require hotair gun / reflow to solder it to a PCB.
Hope i posted this in the right section of the Forums.
Thanks in advance for suggestions / advice.
