Need help identifying an SMA connector
« on: February 21, 2024, 12:52:46 am »
This is used for antenna connection in an Asus WiFi router. Male SMA RP-SMA female, ground is soldered to PCB, signal wire is routed into it from the rear, and the coax shield appears to be crimped, by the shape of it.

Is there a searchable type/model identificator for it?

PCB footprint and the coax cable:

As always, once you ask a question properly, a solution comes up by itself. While I haven't found an exact name of that connector (not sure if there is any), I found the same connector with a ready made cable and the other end's connector on aliexpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006068209049.html.

Blame Digikey for the insane markup. The Aliexpress link comes up 404. Thought my link would help identify the connector.

404 was because the forum included the trailing dot into the URL. Thanks for the heads up, fixed.

Your connector is almost right: it's SMA female, whereas mine turned out to be RP-SMA (reverse polarity) female. But there doesn't seem to be, or I haven't found it, any name for this specific method of the signal wire connection.
