The markings were scratched off
It's 24pin I believe 4mm x 4mm
I believe built in can and usb
I’m a newbie so probably would be able to help you one way or the other but it might help if you advise what the board is from and provide a model number etc.

I.e. “It’s the main board from a from a el cheapo 2014FR-FZQ05CD RFID reader” or what whatever the case is
Thanks, it's from a device call i/O Terminal, meant to read and write via can bus to automotive ecus via USB.
From a quick google of I/O tool if found these

First one lists a whole bunch of different (like 100) versions but lists the MCU’s for each.
The second says it has some wiring diagrams and manuals and what have you listed.
https://ecutools.eu/chip-tuning/ioterminal/ http://ioterminal.com/?page_id=148That is pretty much all I am able to do to help unfortunately but hopefully you can compare the one you have with those and find a match

Hope that helps!
Thanks but this lists ecu it connects to but not the mcu inside the device I'm trying to identify. If you see the picture I posted, mcu model # is scratched off..
Repair?
Dead MCU? That device will also have firmware loaded on it, so even if you find an exact replacement part, you won't have the firmware, and the unit is scrap.
On a
quick search, I can't see any 24pin Microchip brand MCUs with built in CAN.
I have another working unit I can copy information from if I can find the chip model..
The pin count looks similar to Stm8l052c6t6 Microcontroller.

Nah. 99% chance firmware is read protected.
Too many pins on that one. This one is 24 pins..
