If the pt1000 sensor suddenly error while testing the water temperature rise using the analog devices EVAL-CN0359-EB1Z, is the sensor damaged? how to find out the damage?

Water got into it. Maybe it dries out and then it works fine, but depending on the probe construction, it might have dissolved flux, and brought it where it's not supposed to. And made irreversible damage.
