I cannot figure out the BBC sequence for getting an inline image in my post. Can someone explain that? (Yes, I've read the docs, but it's not mentioned).

Also - Is it not possible to delete one's own post? If not - how do we request an admin do that?

Did you search "inline image" in the forum?

There are some issues with inserting inline images lately.
This is the process that I've been using now:
Code: [Select]
- Write your post
 - Attach your images leaving the default "End-of-post expandable thumbnail" option
 - Save your post
 - Display your post and expand the thumbnail to full size
 - Copy the full size image URL address
 - Re-edit your post and manually add your inline image with the "Insert Image" button or
type the image tag and insert the saved URL:
      [img]image_url[/img] or [img width=200]image_url[/img]
 - Repeat for all the images you want to insert
 - Save your post

Example:

Setting the width:

As to your question of deleting your posts:
 - You can remove your posts, unless it is the original post in the thread, with the Remove button.

Yes, I did. And it's easy enough to watch what happens in your edit window when you change an uploaded image to "Inline full-sized image". It would be nice if that actually worked - but thanks anyway.

How do you remove if it is the original post? This is my case... I boinked badly on a post (trying to use the inline images feature!). There were no answers - no replies - and I thought I had read that as long as no one had replied, the OP could delete. But that's apparently not the case.

Moving on to the inline image insertion:

This is the process that I've been using now:

Trying to follow your instructions:

  • I assume "save" means click the "Post" button?
  • on my Mac "copy image URL" is right-click image & select "Copy Link Location"
  • after your "insert image" step using the URL, the "Preview" button now shows the inline image :)

If you see an inline image above this line of text, then I was successful :)

My final edit is: "Thank you - this works!"

You don't.
Only a forum administrator can remove the original post and thread.

Yes. "Save" means the "Post" button

After your reply is posted, expand (i.e. click) the thumbnail at the bottom of the post.
Right click and save the image address.  (I'm using Chrome on Windows.  It may be different for you.)
Then reedit your post and insert the image address where you want it in that post.

If you don't expand the thumbnail, your address will be for the thumbnail and not the full size image.

You can also use the "link address" when reediting your post.

The "link address" is the text under the thumbnail.
