Rigol DS 1054Z component identification question

With my old analog scope I could see what type of component I was looking at such as capacitor would show round or oval. Or a diode would be a right angle....
Is it possible to do with this scope?
I’m  not sure how if it’s possible?

You were probably using a "curve tracer" function that would plot component response to a voltage sweep.

You can't do it with "just" the scope.
But you can use the scope to view the results using a very easy external circuit (called an "octopus").
