Rigol DS1052E 50Mhz or Siglent SDS1072CML 70Mhz [EU]?

I'm looking into buying a hobbyist scope and I was surprised to learn that the Rigol DS1052E Dave Certified scope sells for only €239 ex VAT [1]. The Siglent SDS1072CML sells for €253 ex VAT [2].

I've compared the datasheets of both scopes [3][4] and there doesn't seem to be much between them. That shouldn't be a surprise since both have been designed and manufactured by the same company.

They both have a 1GSa/s sampling rate for 1 channel, 500MSa/s for 2 channels (Dave's #1 most important DSO requirement, see EEV #13). The Rigol has 1Mpts deep memory, the Siglent has 2Mpts (Dave's #2 most important DSO requirement). Is the 2Mpts worth the extra money?

From the two options I would choose DS1054Z :-) Look it up on this forum. It's de facto replacement of DS1052E with four channels and equally "extendable" to 100MHz.

Siglent SDS1072CML is a mature product like the DS1052E, both well liked but the Siglent has a 7" screen. This is the way many DSO's are going, meaning when the Menus are on screen you still have a 5" display.
The newer DS1054Z mentioned had a problem that required a firmware update and this created problems of its own. One could say this product is not yet mature.
It is a 4 Ch unit with all 4 shared by one 1 G ADC. This lowers the sampling rate with all channels on to 250 Msa/s.
