Rigol DS1052E output to PC
« on: November 09, 2010, 10:52:19 pm »
Hello out there,

I'm a first year Elec Eng student in the UK and have found these blogs a great help! After watching a few reviews on the Rigol DS 1052 Scope I bought one and it's a great tool. I have been having considerable difficulty using the Ultrascope software and I have a sinking feeling that it's not compatible with this scope. Can any one walk me through how to get it talking to my PC? I'm running windows 7.

Thanks all

Cam

Hi there. I've used the Ultrascope software and I kinda feel I've not gained any special feature. The video output is laggy, more or less 2 fps. I think that in order to obtain more functionalities from the oscilloscope, you have to write your own Labview software using VISA drivers. The Ultrascope software is a bit limited, IMHO.

If you want to capture screens and record waveforms, a USB memory in the front can help.
