My thandar tf200 appears to use a 4Mhz timebase xtal, Can anyone tell me why its not 10Mhz like most?, Also i have a OSC5A2BO from cti, could that be fitted?, thanks.

The 4MHz xtal is divided down by 4 internally, so the reference is actually 1MHz. There may not be enough room inside the case for an OCXO. Perhaps divide the OSC5A2BO by 10 & connect to the external reference connector.
