Hello all,
I get bunch of 0xFF when I'm trying to read ST 95640W EEPROM desoldered from the car radio (see the photo). It's some kind of protection?
Programmer - modified CH341A black edition (+5V)
Software - AsProgrammer v2.1.0.13
I have no problems reading ST 95320W with the same programmer and software.
Could you have killed it the heat of de soldering?
An erased EPROM shows FF in all fields?
If you try reading it as ST 95320W and it still reads FF, then IC is either empty or dead.

Could it be that the EEPROM is empty by design until the radio is coded?
We don't know what's the radio, if it was ever used, what is stored in this EEPROM and why you want to read it to begin with. This EEPROM cannot have any read protection BTW.
You're all right. It seems the chip is dead. Probably due to desoldering. Thank you for the help!
