Using a Hakko FM2032 Micro Pencil with my Hakko FX 888D Soldering Station

Hi world!

I'm completely new to this site and am just getting into my soldering.  I hope I'm posting in the right section!  I have bought myself a Hakko FX888D and the 8804 hot tweezers for it for some small SMD work but I'd really like to get a micro pencil for it as well....  Something like the FM2032 would be fantastic!  Is there a way to get the FM2032 to work with my FX888D?  If not, is there another micro pencil that I could use with it?  I'm not afraid of doing a litlle tinkering to make it happen!!!  Any help from better knowledge than mine would be appreciated!

It is not compatible, look at the T18 style tips the I and J styles are useful for micro work.

I know the price isn't the same, but the FX951 is an amazing soldering iron, the sleep feature alone is worth it, and then the FM2032 would be compatible.  If you can swing it.

huge price difference though - one decimal point!

the Bakon seems very good other than the fact it usually comes with a tip you dont want.

I must say, the pencil doesn't look much smaller than the one I have already.  Is there enough difference to warrant me buying it?

give me a few hours, i'll foto it next to a ZhongDi ZD-931.

it's shockingly light, and the tip to handle distance is much less.

Nice! How well does it hold its temperature and how accurate is the readout?

it holds - the T12 tips are the key to that - 75w element & sensor right inside the tip!

as for accuracy, dont know yet.
it has a calibration mode, but i need to get my hands on a friends Hakko temp meter.

btw, you can get them for under £20 if you look a bit - i paid £18 with free air-shipping!
