Are there any low priced zigbee usb adapters for PC out there?
Are there any alternatives other than using a usb adapter?
What do you want to do with it?
What do you want to do with it?
I want to transfer numerical data from a zigbee based device to a computer.
There is no standard generic ZigBee payload format. Do you know what target device is? Do you know what protocol it uses? There are also differences between different profiles.

Are you looking for a point to pint ( peer to peer) or a meshed solution?
What data rate and how much of it?
Would a serial (TTL) link be acceptable?
EDIT: point to pint ... peer to beer?

Note that MCU by itself will not do much, you will need to have ZigBee stack. NXP/Jennic provides one, but typically ZigBee stacks are not the easiest things to use.

The easiest thing is to take the same controller and connect it to PC via UART (use FTDI or equivalent IC for USB connectivity).

Its worth noting that most ZigBee stacks are somewhat buggy, and with the ZigBee market not very active developers aren't putting a lot of resources into changing that.
