Loved the video dave, i see youre pretty good at alighning those chips. I've always found soldering .5mm pitch ics to be easy, just the aligning the chip beforehand is difficult.
One thing I noticed that wasn't discussed was the type of fluxes ie noclean, RMA and cleaning them up. I've use RMA flux in tubes and its typically is annoying to remove. Alcohol works but you sometimes have to use a lot of it so I like to heat up the flux reside with my hot air station. This liquifies the flux at a pretty low temperature and you can just wipe it off.
