Those wealth figures are seriously tied up with house prices. For example, why did HK's average wealth fall in 2020? Covid meant house prices didn't do well that year.

People love to talk about inequality, for no obvious reason. Its poverty that really matters for people's well being. Poverty is weakly linked with inequality.

People love to talk about incomes, rather than buying power. The global threshold for poverty of about 2 dollars a day. In some places that lets you live fairly comfortably. In others you'd starve or freeze to death on that much.

I would be interested in knowing where the numbers for income and local cost of living come from. Most incomes are not public information, at least in the US. There are so many areas that differ in income and cost of living as well. Plus I have a bit if doubt how the numbers are swizzled, you can do anything you want with numbers, depending on the desired outcome.

In most countries the government has people's declared incomes from their tax filings.

My survey reply would be:
   Norway, and or Sweden.

Not because I know a lot, but just the few things, like the fact those 2 places have fairly well, and historic, established national systems (mature, by today's standards).  The citizens project a bit, of common sense and maturity / sober attitudes.
Those 2, I don't know, I believe have some lighter aspects, of socialism, although I'm open to correction, there, at my world knowledge being 'usual', or less...
Yup, Norway is my vote.

Yeah. Sometimes I wonder whether the people that still live a tribal lifestyle in forrests are actually better off than most of us. Wealth can be defined & measured in so many ways.
There are small lies, big lies and then there is what is on the screen of your oscilloscope.

Yeah. Sometimes I wonder whether the people that still live a tribal lifestyle in forests are actually better off than most of us. Wealth can be defined & measured in so many ways.

I have what I think to be a good balance. My door is always open for anyone willing to explore paths to contentment if they are prepared to wear some sacrifices. Despite all the name calling I cop for daring to offer the help.
