Ancom analog modules - free to good home
« on: May 04, 2026, 10:41:16 pm »
Once upon a time (1960's - 1980's) there was a British company called "Ancom", which made potted hybrid analog modules.
They look much like the early Analog Devices Hybrids.
To the best of my knowledge, there is nothing known about Ancom, nor are there data sheets anywhere.

Over the last four decades, I have salvaged a number of Ancom modules from British equipment.
If anybody wants them for museum or restoration purposes, PM me and I will send them over.

They are:
15TC-2      (2 of)   Came from a Kratos probe temperature controller.
FG-101A    (2 of)   Thermocouple preamp, same controller
15A-3        (2 of)   ? "Analog Module"
14A-4        (3 of)   ? "Analog Module"
15A-11      (6 of)   ? "Operational amplifier"
CM-1182A  (9 of)   Fet input opamp, from Kratos electron multiplier signal amplifier, has extra bias pin, R to +15
15A-37A    (10 of)  From later Kratos electron multiplier amplifier
15A-378A  (11 of)  Even later version of Kratos amplifier

Hope you can find a good home for them.
The potting compound is it the soft rubbery type? Ir the hard epoxy one.

I distinctly remember building a number of items of research equipment for the Physics labs at my Uni in the '70's containing some of those modules.

Too bad.
It would be a joy to review the old assembly techniques, and the type of components used for precision products.
A teardown, in other words.

Hi! :-) I would LOVE to give the aforementioned modules a new good home. I recently acquired an ancom system for my collection of analog computers (https://analogmuseum.org). Having spares would be really nice.
 Best regards, Bernd. :-)
