Hello
I have to ask the girlfriend first whether I'm allowed to spend some time on building this up, but I'm intrigued. This looks like a pretty cool way of improving my RF skills. I hadn't heard of that project before, so I had a brief look at the website and I'm wondering why this comes on two boards. Looking at the website the modules can be arranged either on 4 "miniboards" or on one panel. Did you re-panelise this? Also I'm wondering where this PCB comes from. I could imagine that PCB parameters such as board- and copper-thickness might have some impact on impedance controlled traces etc., so I'd want to make sure that this is fine. Did you order two sets of boards and built up the first one successfully?
Lastly, how large is that / could you check how much it is to ship it to Switzerland?
I just realized I didn't answer all of your questions, which others may also ask:
Why two boards? The designer sold these as a set of two boards to be either assembled that way or cut apart into the individual SLIM module boards.
Where does this PCB come from? From the original project group buy.
Did you order two sets of boards and built up the first one successfully? No, I ordered this one set and other projects jumped ahead in the queue.
How large is that? Each board is 12.6cm x 19.8cm (7 13/16" x 4 7/8"). Mailing weight in a padded envelope would be about 220g or 8 oz.
First-class mail would cost just under $13 US and priority mail would cost just under $45 US. I don't know anything about how customs works so I can't speculate there.
