EBAY(UK): Enclosures Lot
« on: January 24, 2014, 04:04:20 pm »
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Various-Electronic-Circuit-Enclosures-Plus-Fittings-Two-sizes-/271379375273?pt=UK_BOI_Electrical_Components_Supplies_ET&hash=item3f2f78a4a9#viTabs_0&autorefresh=true

I've been looking for reasonable 'bench style' (with the rest arm) enclosures for projects like power supplies etc, and been a bit disappointed at what is available here for small quantities. These things look pretty decent, but it is collection only from Macclesfield as there are so many. £60 for all this stuff seems a STEAL. I can't find enclosures on ebay for less than £10 that look as well as this, and the lot is for over 200 quantity. It mentions some are part assembled with the power connectors etc on the back.

I'm in Edinburgh so can't buy them, but thought i'd post here, on the off chance someone here will. If somone does, i'd be happy to buy a few of the enclosures off you and pay for shipping up here :)

(Disclaimer: Not affiliated at all with seller- yes it looks dodgy that I've only just registered, but been lurking a while and thought this was a useful first post)

Message the seller and say you'll pay for shipping :)

Hammond do a few nice ones on Farnell. Have a look at their PDF catalog.

Someone at work once told me the bane of an engineer's life is enclosures and connectors. True.

I have a selection of cases I like then just choose from that list... Works well because my labels, drilling templates etc are now a standard template.

Must admit I was tempted to message them, until I saw the quantity they had - the amount would probably fill whatever space I have left in my garage. Don't think my wife would approve! :)

I'll check out farnell; I've looked before, but it's easy enough to miss something on their website, so will check out the catalog. Thanks for the tip!
