THESE "NEW" Keithley 2450 SMU's are listed @ $3,500, which is $2k less than normal retail. If anyone can verify this is a legit seller, I want to jump all over this listing. Seems too good to be true. Email sent but no reply yet, (its been 30 mins). If this IS real, its the best deal of the year. Looking for a couple Keithley SMU's and found this link. Smells funny: "new" and $2k less than other new units. Its almost absurd, but who knows?
If anyone has bought something from this eBay shop, please chime in and let me know how your experience went. Please & thank you.

Heres the link:

These are CHEAPER than the older base model 2400. I have confirmed from another forum user that they had a very difficult time due to the language the seller uses and it was "NOT A GOOD TIME". SO I am walking away as well. Maybe I save someone else a chunk of cash from this post, maybe Ill get yelled about from others, its whatever...if this was/IS real..but "if its too good to be true, it always is. So walking away with my chin up.

Maybe it's not all fine, but I don't see any red flags.  The seller has good feedback, they often deal in high value test equipment, and some of that equipment in recent sales are demo units, so having a 'new' unit that they're selling for cheaper seems reasonable enough.

Not listing specs is not helpful, stock photos are basically worthless, but maybe a first place would be to ask for pictures of the actual unit or the actual packaging for it, since it's marked as flat out new.

Strange, maybe the eBay lots are rentals they are flipping?

I bought this from them https://www.ebay.com/itm/Keysight-Agilent-U5855A-TrueIR-Thermal-Imager-350-C-/113620715958?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=uIb394p5F8ZA%252BsmvzRJFANLqz2g%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc
Answered all my questions and delivered promptly. While doing my research before bidding I noticed their ebay buy now prices tend to be high most of the time, but occasionally they list something for relatively cheap. HTH...

Right on, thank you for the feedback.

I REALLY want to try it and hope eBay/PayPal are my backstop if it goes wrong... as it is such a good deal if its real. If not, and if I have the backstop, its a worthwhile gamble. Ill call them tomorrow to clarify.

  • Lots of engineer-tweakable parts inside!

...

Since they aren't putting much effort into the listing, but are stating that it's New with not much more than a stock image, I actually wouldn't worry too much about making the purchase. If it arrived in any condition other than sealed in its factory original box with everything in unmolested condition inside, I'd instantly file a "not as described" claim.

For used gear, I'm much more tolerant of differences in opinion regarding condition, and I contact the seller to work things out before considering making a claim. But, when it's supposed to be New, my threshold for BS is significantly lower.

There have been a few occasions where I had some doubt about what I'd expect inside, so I've started recording video with my phone prior to opening and filmed the entire unboxing in one take.

I agreed to buy one already with an offer for two(2) but I am waiting for them to send me the serial numbers so I can verify its new, then I will pay for it..I asked for 2 serials and if they send me two serial #'s to check and they come back good, I will buy both. Wish me LUCK!

just a question: Have they implemented a Ctrl-Alt-Del key on them yet? Or have they fixed all the bluescreen errors in their software? >:D

YES, bluescreen issues have been fixed.
At least I do not have any problems anymore on my 2450 and 2460

This was good buy for $3500

UPDATE: seller replied and says they are USED, not NEW as listed. I am waiting to see if they have the original CAL CERT, but if so, I'll buy it an see what happens. If its good to go, I'll report back immediately (with video/ pics for proof) and then immediately buy another one.

Thanks to all who replied with their experiences with this seller. Many thanks indeed!

Thanks for the update. It appears they're either not very trustworthy, not conscientious in their online operations, or have a noob handling their eBay listings.

Although I wouldn't worry about making a purchase because eBay's guarantee has you covered, I'm certainly put off from doing business with them.
