Failed DSO boards for engineering insights
« on: August 30, 2012, 03:27:18 pm »
Hi

Just a request if anybody has failed oscilloscope input boards for digital oscilloscopes, specifically from Acquisition through to acquisition/sample memory, including trigger.

These ideally need to be LCD based scope parts as the design in many ways is fundamentally different after the analog channel.

I've been doing research, and now would like to probe a couple of well designed layouts, but a failed DSO can still cost over $100.

The whole board could be completely failed, every component could be useless, but as long as it can be understood (ie what is missing is limited, or if removed intact, is marked as being a given IC purpose) I'd be interested in acquiring it, obviously I'm not looking for anything that is worth anything.

This is really to understand minor insights and methods for tuning solutions, rather than figure out overall design and flow, or component selection, as this is largely understood. It forms an accelerator between the open designs, research material, tech releases and the higher end solutions.

Thanks
