First Benchtop Power Supply Needed
« on: April 02, 2012, 10:11:27 pm »
If anyone has a power supply that they need to get rid of I would be glad to take it off your hands for you. I need to diagnose an HDTV. The power supply board went out in it and I want to make sure the it was indeed the power supply board that is the culprit before I go and buy another power supply board.

Thanks

Do you know what the outputs of the TV's supply were? I don't think a single bench power supply is going to do very much good in this case. There are usually quite a few different power rails in a TV, in a plasma you will have some above 200V going to the Y and Z sustain boards. One LCD I was messing with the other day had 6 different voltages coming from the power supply.

Why don't you test all the voltages coming out of the power supply board to make sure they are within spec?

You might also need to test the PSU board while still inside the TV because it may need a load to function correctly.

I'll check the voltages again coming out of the board since it has been a while. I blew the fuse so I'll have to get a new one in order to test it. I will let you guys know though.

I have an Agilent 6624A available. The front panel of the unit is a bit scratched up but has been tested and works perfectly! Asking $400 plus shipping and handling for this unit. Please let me know if you are interested, it is ready to ship: ;D
