Hi Davide,

I have two unit to sell as "review unit" one is BM257 and the other is BM257s.

The BM857s unit comes with this gold plated silicon test leads and (just in case) Italian manual.

Shipping is not included (but for Italy it should be less than 10€ with DHL Express).

Paypal is OK and yes if you like/need you can have the Invoice.

PS: the BM857s was used only to make this photo:

  https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/a-list-of-multimeters-that-do-not-appear-to-meet-their-claimed-safety-specs/msg409726/#msg409726

and than put back together. It is really mint state with lcd protective film still in place.

UL listed. No CE mark. CAT III/600V CAT IV/300V. Forget CAT II/1000V.
Are the fuses still only rated at 600V?

Meters for sale in Europe have to comply with EN61010-2-30 (3rd edition Oct 2010) since 1st October 2013.
EN61010-1 2nd edition 2001 has been totally withdrawn. CE marking is also a requirement.

UL61010-1 3rd edition published in 2012. 2nd edition will fall away in Jan 2018. So those meters that don't comply can still be sold outside of Europe, where UL61010-1 is the binding document.

IEC61010-1 3rd edition published in June 2010. New meters made after that date have to comply.

Brymen meters have the CE mark on the back side, on the serial number label.

Thank Franky, do you have a picture of it. The logo should be at least 5mm tall and permanent.
The meter should be retested now to comply with the 3rd edition of the EN61010 regulations.
Fuses should be 1000V rated to match the CAT II 1000V rating and mA/A jacks can't be limited to CAT III 500V/600V 300VDC anymore.
They could also remove the CAT II 1000V rating instead.

Yes, I just saw that post. The 'S' model. It has to comply to be sold in Europe now.
Curious to see what the final CAT rating will be and if some new independent testing was done.

Never mind, I found a picture of the CE marking on the label. No sure if it is permanent enough to satisfy the regulators. Fluke has it engraved in the case of their multimeters.

These meters where placed on the EU market some year ago. I found many documentation stating that the 61010 third edition does not apply to products already placed on the market.

Here some references:

_________________________________________________

The 3rd edition of EN 60601-1 activates in EU/EEA on June 1st 2012. All products covered under the Part 1 standard only (ie, EN 60601-1 only) must show compliance with EN 60601-1 3rd edition after this date. This applies to products produced before and after this date, but not to products already placed on the market.

http://www.nemko.com/about/news/3rd-edition-en-60601-1-activates-june-1st-2012

_________________________________________________

QUESTION:
If, on May 31 2012, we have stock of products tested according to 2nd edition are we allow selling
them?

ANSWER:
Theoretically you could, as long as they are placed in the market on the 31st May 2012, that is,
before 1st June 2012 (end of transition period for the 3rd edition). If the stock of products are sold
but put on the market on the 2nd June 2012 (for example), they should be complied with 3rd edition
standard.

Than everybody is still selling equiment that comply "only" with 60601 2nd edition.

The way I understand it, meters that were imported in the EU by legal importers before the 1st October 2013 deadline can still be sold under the 2nd edition. Any imports landing after the 1st October 2013 would have to comply with the 3rd edition.

According to the new approach under the German legislation, a product is considered “put on the market” when it is first made available for use or distribution in the Community. Accordingly, a product can be “put on the market” before it is sold to end-consumers. This takes place when a product transfers ownership from the manufacturer to an authorized importer or distributor in the community market.

http://export.gov/germany/doing_business_in_germany/WEEEandRoHS/PutontheMarket/index.asp

EN 61010-1:2001 has been replaced by EN 61010-1:2010 which was released in November 2010. All manufacturers continuing top put product on the market that had used EN 61010-1:2001 for compliance under the Low Voltage Directive are require to re-test/assess to EN 61010-1:2010 and update their declarations and technical files.
