These 34420A are just really good DMM.
Just the prices for used instruments have skyrocketed.
The new list price is €8,485.89 in Germany (Including VAT) 
Not long ago, the list price was half of this.

RE a new version, it seems that they've redesigned it relatively recently (mid-2021) for ROHS compliance - I wonder if they have changed anything significant other than component lead plating?

It used most of the custom 34401A parts by the looks of it (basically everything after the front-end seems very similar), so they must still have a decent stock of them. Unless they've done a big change of the internal architecture but decided not to update it for LAN/LXI/Black edition etc?

Sadly this is not a justifiable purchase as much as I'd like one, I guess I'll just need to keep an eye out for a broken one to repair.

Bump from a satisfied buyer. Purchased the 34461A from kkayser and unit was delivered as promised, packed extremely well and of course it functions as expected. Always a pleasure to purchase privately as we all win rather than paying ridiculous fees to eBay.
