These things have a 7 year timer built-in so when it expires they beep and display "END" on the screen.
So they are not really usable as CO sensors, but I figured somebody may want to play with them or use for parts. Free, just pay shipping. (USPS priority or first class)

Pop them in the post to Dave for a quick teardown. Who knows, he might get to them before the end of the decade at his current rate ;)

Its about $30 new each. Lifespan is 10 years so they should still work for playing around.
Profile -> Modify profile -> Look and Layout ->  Don't show users' signatures

I had a very similar detector, the EOL timer expired long before it should have, due apparently to noise on the power line. I ended up finding another identical unit that was new, dumped the EEPROM from the PIC and loaded it onto my old one and it revived it, I now use the old one as a backup downstairs. I was surprised the firmware was not protected.

These were exactly 7 years from date of activation. So I guess they have a few more years to play with.
