In need of M2 threaded spacers
« on: June 16, 2013, 12:21:47 am »
I need to find a source for some brass or stainless steel or aluminum M2 threaded spacers in a length of 4mm

I need to buy 1000 of them, and eBay has them at 50 pieces for about $6.  Does anyone know of a source to buy these in bulk? $120.00 seems expensive for those.

Are you talking about female-female threaded standoffs.
In that case McMaster-Carr only goes down to M2.5 :(

I checked all our usual hardware distributors and none of them have M2 F-F standoffs.  They all start at M2.5.  But the price for the M2.5s is about the same as the ebay price you found.

Check this site:
http://www.mac8japan.com/

Especially the 2SP-4 (http://www.mac8japan.com/parts/sp/2spsq.html) type should fit your needs.

The homepage is a bit messy.
But they do have a couple of very usefull parts.
For example SMD solderable nuts and spacers:

Are these what you're looking for: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310641980836

These are a lot cheaper to buy direct from China. I can help you source them if you like.

I can probably get those for you at half that price (unit price) in volume. PM me if interested.

Cheers,
