Philips/(Fluke) PM 97 Scopemeter 50 MHz
« on: December 06, 2015, 01:36:23 pm »
I'm ready to let go of my scopemeter, posting it here to see if there's any interest. It's in very good condition and works perfectly, but missing battery pack and the original plug pack (comes with working non-original one). Also missing the probe hook .. thing. What you get is in the pictures. Runs on four C-cells. A rechargeable battery pack is easy to hack together. (I also have the original user manual, but only in the Scandinavian languages + Finnish).

Asking price: 3000 NOK. ($350). Includes shipping anywhere. (I will only accept PayPal payments in my own currency)

Also comes with an extra pair of probes (PM9020 10:1 Passive Probes).

Service manual is available: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/15526481/PM97/PM97.pdf.

Album with pictures: https://www.dropbox.com/sc/qmdqo6v47izihk1/AABWY38JDFGWbXhp-3rf3P4Ja

The LCD screen is not as dim as it looks in the last picture attached here, I just had to take the picture at an angle to avoid the reflection.

Price?

I've settled on a price. Just averaged the sold listings on eBay and included free shipping.

Well, are we allowed to bid?

In that case, 2.000 NOK incl. shipping. - Both Siglent and Owon has handheld scopes at a fair price, new! (With warranty, batteries, etc.)

Fluke kit always commands a premium as quality is guaranteed. It is a little unfair to compare the Fluke with an Owon. This is why used Fluke multimeters sell for so much more than brands like Uni-T and Mastech.

I have a new in the box Fluke Scopemeter that I will be selling on eBay as that is where they command the highest prices. It may make little sense but for the seller it is the financial return that normally matters.

I don't know what Fraser is doing...

I want to try to avoid eBay as much as possible, the economics never works out well. PayPal is also not allowing me to withdraw funds in USD anymore, or any other currency. The total losses in 10% sales fee, paypal transaction fees, currency conversion fees, locking my money for 3 weeks etc. No thanks.

I take all offers in good faith, and I'll tell you if I find it reasonable. In this case it's a bit low and I have time to wait for more offers.

I completely forgot about this one;
I know it's not fair to compare a Fluke with a Owon/Siglent. But this device is probably +10 year old, Fluke Quality or not - The Siglent 60 MHz handheld is 400€ delivered, brand spanking new.

Sorry if my bid stepped your toes. That was not my intention. :-+
