Spare parts collective

I have to buy a couple of odd parts to re-stock my design kits and cast my eye down the Farnell price break table. Now, I'm not sure I'll ever need a thousand 24.9 and 49.9 ohm resistors, but for $9 how can you go wrong? So, I had a thought - can we organise some sort of common parts bulk order collective? The obvious answer is a resounding "hell no!" due to geographic issues and despite the large numbers of parts involved, poor economies of scale. However, it might work on a local scale if postage isn't required to share things around. Is there anyone in Adelaide/Canberra who wants to go halves on some reels of common parts, such as 0603 100nF capacitors?
