New Tektronix 2246
« on: May 23, 2015, 11:25:46 pm »
Just found this on ebay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/TEKTRONIX-OSCILLOSCOPE-2246-MOD-A-90-250V-LAB-LABORATORY-TEST-EQUIPMENT-NEW-/171775069159

Its a new Tek 2246 for 640USD. Is it a good deal? Does that scope come with anything that could fail because of the long storage time?

Thanks

Looks too high for me.

Always check on sold listings so you can get an idea on how much they went for in the past:

Way too much.  Paid $200 for mine about 10 years ago, with a couple of probes.

EDIT:  NOTE:  BTW:  WTF:  OMG!:  LOL:
I just noticed the ebay ad indicates it's a new unit.  Maybe it really is, maybe it isn't.  Either way, you can get a helluva lot better 'scope for $600 these days.

I didn't take it apart.
I turned it on.

The only stupid question is, well, most of them...

Save a fuse...Blow an electrician.

I got a Rigol DS1052E, I like all its digital nice features like measuring and saving the signal, but when it comes to displaying the waveform I find the analogs are quite superior in terms of refresh rate and resolution...
