WANTED: DC Electronic Load
« on: November 12, 2012, 06:00:58 am »
Hello,

I am looking for a cheap used DC Electronic Load. 100 watt or better would be fine.

Thanks,
Dan

I'm not sure you can find one for less than $200, and those types are the early transistor or MOSFET design are are purely constant current.  I've been looking for over 3 years for one and finally settled on the Array eload, see that thread.

Until then I made do with 10x10 100 watt resistors than I could mix in series or parallel combos for 100 ohms or less to get close to what I needed for a current drain.  Quality power resistors cost between $5-10 each, so that alone will run $50-100, not including other hardware.
Best Wishes,

Thanks for the reply Saturation. Ive been looking on ebay for awhile now hoping to find a bargain. Thought I would ask here in case someone had one gathering dust. Guess I will break my piggy bank and purchase a B&K.

You're welcome, SirDan.  We talked about Maynuo a lot in the past, and the Canadian distributor is in Quebec.  I wonder if they can deal you a better prices than in the US?  Maynuo's are listed as much as BK but as T4P pointed out, in China via taobao.com its sold at far far less than BK or Itech.
