It is possible to get good deals on eBay, even when there's active bidding. It's a tradeoff between cost and patience. Good deals generally take time to achieve.

Thanks, I really have been investing time into eBay, but I guess I will invest more patience I guess.

Yep, patience pays off. Meanwhile, someone may pop in here with something. Stay tuned (and keep your eyes open for new postings in this forum, too).

Regarding calibration, you're unlikely to get a recent calibration with a bargain-priced device. In general, you're unlikely to need such accuracy, but if you really do, then you can get it calibrated locally.

As I mentioned in the other thread you started, get the other gear first that is essential to making kits, designing or repairing electronics.

If you really need an oscilloscope do yourself a favor and save up for something decent, this is what the $375 (with free shipping tequipment.net) gets you. There is no point in buying an old analog oscilloscope anymore, they are almost totally obsolete and you will ultimately regret spending any money chasing one.

Pay close attention to 9:50 onwards.

The former isn't necessarily true and in some cases they can be better. But it depends on what you are going to use it for. In addition, you may be able to buy two secondhand pieces of equipment, e.g. a signal generator.

As for the latter, you will always pay to get experience, sometimes in money sometimes in other ways. If you are inexperienced and money is a key constraint, then sometimes it is better to get practical experience cheaply.
There are lies, damned lies, statistics - and ADC/DAC specs.

Okay, I see your posts, both of them.

Why do you need a 2 channel 20 Mhz scope?
