Hello,

would like to buy an old HP custom chip with part number 1826-0984. A friend of mine is restoring an old HP signal generator 8116A and all clues lead to this IC being faulty.

Please let me know, if you have any of these ICs and willing to sell and send one to Europe.

you already know that's a tough one to get, there is some on ebay, one seller has many, and sold many, check his feedback

and you wont like the price ...

I know I know, there are few on ebay. But the price, plus shipping and all the import fees - it is cheaper to get another whole instrument. So in the end, he may buy one of the ebay ones. What else can he do.

alas nothing more than what you wrote

buy a chip ... or someone have spare pcb parts, or buy used instrument hoping the chip is not defective .... it's a gamble

i've checked many hp cross numbers to other makers, alas this one is not in the lists i've seen
