YARD SALE: Kelvin clips with short leads and banana plugs
« on: April 24, 2014, 03:33:36 am »
I got these while trying to source some Kelvin leads with good quality/price ratio for my eBay store. These ones failed. Some solder joints on the clips have hot glue over them, some don't. Some red banana plugs have a black tint on them. They do work, but just look a little nasty and cheap. I've got 2 pairs as shown in the attached photo. $5 per pair shipped worldwide. Please post here and PM me your Paypal info to claim. Thanks for looking!

Dang it, I was really wanting to pick some up. Oh well, i guess i'll wait until you have something for sale in your store.

By the way Franky, do you have access to spare parts for the UT61E? I have one where I pulled off putting the 9V battery in backwards. Killed one of the input capacitors (and have a feeling killed the W1 as well).

I will, eventually. They won't be quite as cheap though. I lost money on these ones I posted in this thread as they cost me more than $5 before even adding any shipping. They are still usable so I just thought it would be a big waste to just throw them away :)

I will have to ask about that but I doubt it. Will let you know when I hear back. Which capacitor did you blow? Any picture?

Oh I figure that. I'll just be glad to see some budget Kelvin leads that I can trust.

No worries if you can't. Just a quick check. Don't waste too much time on it.  Here's the capacitor that blew:

I'm worried if w1 is blown that out wouldn't be easy to find here. Thanks for looking mate.

I looked at the 61E schematic and C36 is a 10uF cap and W1 is a 7201U30 regulator. Those should be fairly easy to find, even if Uni-T won't provide replacement parts. It will surely cost more to ship than to buy those 2 tiny parts though!

You are correct, I don't know what the heck I was looking at for w1. But the party number I was looking for wasn't coming up. Yours comes up just fine. Sorry to bother you but thanks again for looking. I'll order them here for sure. No need to ship around the world. Hopefully I can get this fixed up quick. Look forward to when you have Kelvin clips in. Have a good weekend!

More semi-offtopic pestering of the Franky. I was going  to PM you but then this thread appeared and I thought other forum members might be interested in the answer.

question: do you sell the silcone insulated wires in spools/or longer cut lengths? Your website listing of 1 meter lenghts is similar to hobby-kings and I have been told they actually sell longer lengths.

I have a growing list of small items and want to make an order soon.

Thanks

Yes, I do sell longer lengths, uncut, as indicated on my eBay item descriptions ;) Not "spools" as such though as these wires don't come with the reels.

What sort of connectors on the other end of the leads would you guys be most interested in? I have been mainly looking at ones with banana plugs.

Suggesting to provide just the raw materials.

Definitely. But I'm sure there will be people looking for "plug-n-play" (geez that sounds so 90's!) type stuff too.

For connectors, I would go with bananna plugs.

Definitely banana plugs (or bnc with a bnc to banana adapter). I would use the plugs with my multimeter so banana plugs are a must.

It would be awesome if you could find split banana plugs for the DE-5000.
