zoro cyber monday
« on: November 29, 2015, 02:00:45 am »
Hello fellow nerds,

zoro will have a 30 pct sale on cyber monday.  They have a full selection of Fluke and decent selection of Keysight.

I  will buy a fluke 289/fvf and a keysight msox2024.

The Fluke buy comes in with a free gift value >$200 from Fluke.  The keysight scope comes with the popular signal generator and upgrade package free.

Out of curiosity-do you know or have an idea what the ">$200" gift from Fluke is?

Technically, no.  You have a choice to choose a few items like a fluke 116 or a temp gun or an ipod touch.  I contacted fluke and they said "your gift choice is not guaranteed, but you are guaranteed to receive a gift of equal or more value than the one you selected"  I'm not sure what that means. But whatever it is, I'm sure I can dump it off on ebay and make a few bucks

Anyways its a minor point.  A fluke 289/fvf can be had for 500.  And a fully loaded keysight msox2404a will go for 2400.

Forget your pride for a minute, and check this sale out.

Also they have a full selection of pomona stuff like bannanas and test leads etc.

Extech they also carry.  Don't recommend though.

Tektronix they do not carry.

FWIW, Zoro is a fairly well known industrial supply house here in the US, which is owned by an even bigger one, Grainger (maybe even the largest here). Zoro's website leaves a lot to be desired though, so it's easier to find it on Grainger, then search Zoro by the manufacturer's P/N as it's usually cheaper and they accept PayPal (decent sales on a set calendar too).

brint.corb's posts do sound like an employee trying to drum up business though (he was asking where to buy a 289/FVF in a different thread though, so I don't think he's an employee).  :-DD

Perhaps, but I get around and have never heard of them. Grainger I know. Zoro is a name which I haven't heard come up once in the last 15 years, and are PAGES AND PAGES down the search results.

Not exactly a top name for internet sales of test equipment.

As nanofrog says, Zoro is well known online industrial and tool supplier in the US.  What is not well known is that they sell test equipment.

They do occasionally have big discounts which can mean killer deals for those who do know.

I got a new Flir E4 from them at 30% off a few years ago.

I haven't seen 30% off announced for tomorrow anywhere but in this thread. Their website just says to "check back tomorrow".  I will be doing just that.

That's because they aren't a Test Equipment vendor alone. They are an industrial supply, which means much of their focus is on hand tools (like screwdrivers, pliers, etc.). They include T&M stuff mostly as it applies to industrial supply. They are not a T&M focused dealer. They are FAR from a little known website. You just look like a fool behaving like this. Go to a site like GarageJournal or many of the other tool and gearhead related sites and I can PROMISE you that not only have they heard of ZoroTools they have purchased from them regularly. On top of that, even

The code is blizzardsale.  Zoros search system doesnt work well.  Try typing in the exact mfr name and pn, for example "pomona 1369" or "fluke 77-IV"

Monkey sorry but i dont have time for your monkey business. Goodbye.

Fact: The title of the post was quite clear. I appreciate the heads up on a good deal, especially given the relatively unique nature of discounts being applied to items typically "exempt" from coupon codes.

I guess, like your fellow complainers who contribute little or nothing of value in this forum,  your fervent desire to whinge and complain was too powerful to resist clicking onto this thread, eh?

Also grabbed a hakko smd rework station and some ESD mats and a bunch of various Pomona and fluke stuff.

Still 3 more hours but If you missed the 30 pct sale don't fret.  They usually repeat it in mid december and close to quarter ends.

DO NOT take the bait for their 20 pct sucker sales!  Be patient. Load the cart and WAIT for the 30 pct sales.

I don't know what products you were looking at but i got a Hakko FX-951 for $184.43 delivered and T15 tips for $8.25 each. Those prices are far below anything else I've seen.

I'm hoping my wife got me the 50 piece Wiha precision screwdriver set I suggested for xmas - at $140 that is also far below anywhere else I've seen it.

On the test Equipment (DSO for example)I've priced, Zoro's regular pricing seems to be at or slightly above what others are asking. But i've never seen anyone else offer them for  30% off - not even close!

Likely my Flir1G2 not coming through.  I still have no confirmation that my order is confirmed.  Maybe I should have used their specified forwarder.

Once you order from them you'll get a card in the mail about a week before each sale.
