ACF Bonding - Melbourne
« on: March 31, 2020, 10:27:18 am »
Hi

I have an small monochrome LCD where I suspect the ACF bonding has begun to fail. This is because there are problems with vertical pixel rows, suggesting parts of the matrix circuitry has poor connection rather than the liquid itself or polarisers are bad. With freeze spray, the panel comes back to near perfect. Freeze spraying the driver chip has no effect.

Is there anywhere in Melbourne that can dissolve and rework ACF bonding? Flex to glass. Would love to do it myself, but it is hard to see how this is possible without proper equipment.

It is a probably a bit of a punt, but new panels are not available.

If it is ACF connection problem, when you press on the flex cable or ACF connection area, the lcd display would be recovered.
From the picture, it is COF IC on the flex cable, it seems it is a custom lcd,  i think the problem might be comes from the flex cable and the IC driver connection, not from the ACF connection. because the pins are easily broken on the flex cable on the IC driver's pin. if it is, it would be hard to repair.
