BAKON soldering stations EG BK2000A

Anyone have any experience of these? I bought a BK2000 (predecessor of the BK2000A) in new condition from Flea Bay. Cost me £26 (~$40) including shipping. Most impressed with the product for that price. 120Watt iron, digital temp control. All works nicely and even the iron soft grip is good quality as is the stand. Only slight down is length of cable and slightly hard silicone (?) outer. Apart from that, I don't know why I struggled on with old falky Weller stations for so long! Also now even more convinced of overpricing of the brand names.

120W? Have you checked that with a power meter? Unusually high for those clones.

Agreed I was surprised at the apparent spec, but I don't have a power meter. Anyway the power is more than adequate for my needs, so I'm happy.

It doesn't look like a hakko clone, it's a hell lot bigger than a hakko apart from the handle

I have a Bakon BK2000 at work. It has a switched PSU. I measured 108W power consumption.   It is OK for soldering big joints. But it has a strange user interface. You have to enter a pin number every time you change the temperature... This is OK for industrial use but not so good for hobby use. This user manual is probably very similar to BK2000.

 I do not know if they sell a mini spoon soldering tip.

If the BK2000 was secondhand or discontinued that may explain the price. But the iron looks like a Weller design from the heater and tips, and all indications are that the station is 90W according to Bakon, which could be overstated. 

The BK2000A (90W) I found on gearbest was $156 and ebay was $200 and considering it comes with all the idiosyncrasies of a Chinese home brand station (questionable specs, safety, reliability, warranty) combined with the older style iron, not great value at all.
