Clap Trap
« on: April 25, 2012, 10:40:24 pm »
I quote below, is this disinformation, designed to push EEVBlog off the radar of search engines, a poison of free speech ? If so please ban.

From  Other poster.

FUD Crap etc.

Greetings EEVBees:

--After having discussed the Reykjavík talks last night, while drinking iced tea and eating popcorn, I fell into a fitful sleep an dreamed about Mad Dave Rockatansky-Jones, Road Warrior, also known as the other man with no name. In the dream Mad Dave is forced into battle with a motley murderous gang of Post Apocalyptic Anarchic Nihilist bikers and gearheads who kidnap a beautiful strawberry blond and the world's handsomest boy child. These villains had a taste in attire and grooming, that would cause even The Village People, Madonna, and Boy George to start biting the furniture, showing a pronounced preference for Viking Helmets, Hockey Masks and those fringed chaps where the seat is missing. They drove an even more unlikely fleet of high compression gas guzzling tricycles, halftracks and wheeled fubars, using fuel obtained from a gasoline well or flatulent hogs, I cannot remember exactly. In any case, after an seemingly endless high speed chase through the dusty arid outback, Mad Dave manages to escape in his solar powered automobile. He finds an old Ipad with some mysterious and peculiar apps that allows him to establish an astral connection with the long departed Obi Wan Sagani. With Sagani's help, Mad Dave is able to procure some Unobtanium and a Flux Resistor. Combining these with his trusty Fluke 87 and an old Didge he manages to construct a Snafu ray. He rescues the woman and child, and, high atop Ayers Rock, in an Armageddon like battle, he puts the quietus to the Motlies, using the Snafu ray in turbo mode. Then, they were off to Mullumbimby to search for the last maker space on Earth... At this point I was awakened by a screaming bladder, which was OK, because I do not think my poor old ticker could have stood any more.

"Get ready, little lady. Hell is coming to breakfast."
Chief Dan George 1899 - 1981

Best Regards
Clear Ether

If so please ban.

No, I think SgtRock just has a quirky sense of humour -- not that he's alone in that, of course!

The use of   --  on every post should be reason enough

I'd don't know about you guys, but I actually enjoy making a connection between a SgtRock post and its relation to the attached quote...sometimes, that's the only way I can tell if he's being facetious or not. :P

Says much of why UFOs are only ever shot out of focus from trailer parks after liquor hour.   ;)

So I got it wrong again.  The consensus is that the SgtRock has an odd sense of humor and I'm paranoid of disinformation.

Sincere Apologies SgtRock If I have offended you.

I have been seeing stuff going on where a discussion thread is blitzed by a concerted effort at disinformation in the Sarkozy french election article in the Independent news paper site.  Made me a bit paranoid that with all the discussions on here.

Its no excuse for being stupid... I know  :-[

Personally I find him annoying and don't bother with all his posts. He enjoys words for the sake of words too much for my taste. Just personal opinion and I'm sure he's a nice guy :)

I like SgtRock, although some of his posts are admittedly difficult to read. The actual content of his posts are interesting, but perhaps his text need to be a little more concise, use better formatting, and not include too much redundant stuff in there (such as random quotations of famous figures). Also, when quoting other member's text, using actual [ quote ] tags would be very helpful. Differentiating between all the aforementioned blocks of text is sometimes difficult when it is not formatted correctly. At the end of the day, it's all about brevity and clarity.

For some reason, I find SgtRock as an oldskool poster, like someone form the vintage era. If that's true, that would be awesome.
