Favourite pieces of equipment

As I'm fairly New to serious electronics, I enjoy using different pieces of gear, some home made some commercial this small unit from Atlas it's called the DCA for looking at semi's diodes ect, is my most favourite at this time,Whats yours and why

Narrow it down to just one, no can do!

In my home lab, it's a toss up between two of my old Tek analog scopes: the 2467 and the 485.

In my work lab: the Tek MDO4104-6 Mixed Domain Oscilloscope and the RSS6120A Real Time Spectrum Analyzer.

A cheap Turnigy power meter.

Very useful if you need energy measurements. Of course it is not a high precision instrument, but for stuff that draws an amp or two (or 60... haven't tried 130 yet) it's good enough.

I don't need to use it very much, but love it when I do. Balancing the bridge with two hands is like driving with a stick--you become one with the machine, and it's cool.

I love the build quality and obvious attention to detail that Tek put into my 454A and 465...they are jewels as compared to so much modern stuff.

But, even though it does not ooze build quality vibes the way the Teks do, my Hameg HM 605is the best working scope I have ever played with.

Oh, and my Simpson 260-6XLPM VOM...I just have to keep one of those around. Love the analog readout...has its own ambiance.  :-)

 This is nice to see your favourites pieces, note I did say "at the moment my favourite piece of equipment  is", I must say I do like the look of the TEK scopes, they seem to be everywhere, and the old one's do seem to last , I just have I think is classed as a  entry level scope Telequipment D61a, which suits my needs at the moment, until I learn how to use it properly, thanks for replying makes a change from the normal high tech questions.

Really, in today's embedded world, it's hard to get much done without a PC. Even when working on old fashioned discrete logic and analog stuff, a PC is still very useful.

     Last Time In My import to india i did have a triplett ,That thing has awesome accuracy .This Time i have one of these simpsons comming lets see how those stack up .BTW i already have a avometer also .Too bad its not made for vertical operations at all ,I hate that .The best thing it has three pots for adjusting different ohm ranges and once done its just flipping the same .I have the Avometer 8 Mark 5

I love the tektronix 465 scope , it is old, isn't the lightest thing to carry around, but it hasn't let me down yet after years of work, and I bought it used, just really well made.

My other favorite item is the simpson 260 multimeter, yeah digital is the thing now but that simpson still measures as good as any digital meter, possible better and it does so much faster, also shows transients much better.

I have a Tektronix 465M. Not the 465 you are probably thinking about but it's still an awesome piece of equipment.

I've always thought about getting a Simpson. Price is still too much for me to justify...don't really need one.
