Am I in the minority who actually do more forum reading than actual work ?.
depends what we are upto at work. i follow 2 or 3 other forums so dont have a great deal of time to read eevblog sadly but it is definitely more interesting than the others
Thank God, I thought it was me, I get up and the first thing I do is look for new posts, make coffee, put my project on the bench, read more posts, buy stuff on ebay or look for Toploser to sell something I want, forget project , time for bed
.
Don't read the forum at work, or I would get nothing done.
I try not to let work get in the way of my forum reading. Between here and Slashdot I'm a busy guy.
F*ck beta! Go to Soylentnews
I'm unfortunately 'retired'. If I was at work I wouldn't have the available time to follow forums. It has always been almost impossible to just to keep up with professional publications never mind the plethora of forums.
I suppose someone somewhere has created a forum to distil and impart the vital information relevant to a professionals' legal requirements, in particular as said requirements change.
Once the morning administrivia is out of the way (starting at about 6:50), breakfast, foxnews.com and then the EEVBlog. I typically do the blog in the morning, late in the afternoon (that is, if work doesn't get in the way) and in the evening. Even if there aren't service calls, there is still the emails, phone calls from other techs, etc that need taken care of. I try to stay away from doing anything personal because I don't want to be in the middle of something and have to leave to run a service call. I hate interruptions. I don't mind stopping something for a quick phone call, but nothing extended. I don't like multitasking for the same reason; start one thing, finish it and then on to the next.
