DMM Market

Dear all,
I'm searching for information about the DMM market, especially the market for handheld devices used by electricians, HVAC/R-technicians or industrial field engieers. I need this information as I'm writing an extract about the topic.
I know that Fluke is on top of the market but I don't find information about Fluke's market share, competitors or market volume. I searched "the wohle" (At least it feels like  ) web but up to now, I haven't found any real information.

You've come to the right place for opinions on multimeters! 
Unfortunately I doubt you will get much market share info, as that sort of stuff is usually kept pretty well under wraps. Or if you are lucky, via one of those market research firms you can pay to get a market report.

Hey Dave,
thank you for your research. Most of the sources I found too when I did my research. The proposal saying that the market is worth 500m seems really unprofessional..but that you recognized too^^

Nevertheless the sources don't tell much about the market structures I mean, they talk about "Multimeters" but well, not about the distribution between benchtops and portables..moreover the industries are not really classified the way I "would" like it..r&d, aoerospace, military..that has nothing to do with electricians or HVAC/R - guys...

Actually it seems pretty hopeless :E
