I only made it to 50 seconds. Perhaps if it was done more in the style of Dr Seuss I might have persevered. It was a bit depressing.
Made it to 4:23 until I thought "Okay, yea, got the point."
Honestly this is a problem that has existed before computers were a thing. I am sure in the past the same thing was said about kids listening to music all day, or kids reading books all day.
Personally I don't hog my phone all the time, and I have NEVER in my entire LIFE seen two people sit down at a table and text each other. Nobody thinks that or does that, and the general exception for something nobody does is present, but that's just not a problem on any scale. I never stand texting on my phone (To be fair I don't own a phone with any cellular service) in the middle of the street, and a lot of what I do on my computer is learn.
Currently about 15 years of age, I like to come on to this forum to discuss cool topics I thought of, to ask a question, or to just reply to other posts. I do use my computer a lot, but that doesn't mean I am unable to do other stuff. I also tend to be quite absorbed into the hardware of things, often building computers of my own, and I even build tech from the past, I currently have a decent C64 and C128 setup, I own retro consoles, and I am building an 80486 machine pretty soon.
I'm not going to admit I go out regularly, I don't, but there is not much to do where I live. Not counting computer related activities I am too young to have a job, I currently spend most of my time learning, and I don't have many friends, online or offline because I don't tend to like people that much. I can have long, interesting conversations with many people, but I don't like making friends often unless I like the person a lot.
And honestly when you look at the big picture, people are still running our ports, building our streets, staffing our groceries, there are still people doing stuff, this isn't a billions wide epidemic, rather just some people getting a bit to attached to doing something.
This video I honestly thing is putting a bit of a dramatic side to things, like the classic, you lose your pen, you can't study, you can't pass your exams, you fail school, you get depressed, depressed = sick, sick = death, this video puts light on an existing problem, but is giving a solution on the extreme and unneeded side of things.
