Kiriakos:

I have viewed this site about the Greece military and they looked serious.  They even have divers to protect the coast.  They did not surrender like the French did during World War Two, but fought with old guns and what they have.  With the economic down turn, will Greece be defiant of the austerity for debt payments and Euro woes and have a civil war?

Greek Civil Wars were in 1974.

Why are Greece so defiant and rebellious?

Picture of a Greek, Hellenic F4 Phantom military airplane aviator.  She has to obey orders liable to fire upon anyone invading or not obeying.  She plans to shoot unless fired at.   No one at that Hellenic military website seem friendly, but very stern and serious.  The most scary pictures are the Hellenic spacial forces divers with scuba rebreathers and pistol pointing pictures  and the knife and close fighting in the Maliagha Fortress in April 9, 1941, piles of dead on all sides in the web site.  She will let the ground missiles take down the foreign, if need to or be forced to land and surrender.  Macedonia is claiming to be Greek, but Greece would like to be named Macedonia, not this former republic of Yugoslav Macedonia.  There was a Macedonian protest in Australia over the name of their country.  The air force is often divided over the right and left wings, not the airplanes, but supporting the country's PM or leader or the population in conflicting views.  Hellenic forces have varying degree of self defense and loyalty to the country's leader and PM in times of economic turmoil like the present.

Disobedient Hellenic Army at a bunker during World War Two costs lives in 1941.

Because they are capable to deal with an enemy of 10 times larger than their size.
The last 70 years this is our strategy.

This is my quick reply to you, I will not expand more, lets hope that you got most of your answers.
