Looking for specific OLED display
« on: February 20, 2013, 08:49:19 am »
Greetings

I have a livescribe pen with well known dead display fault and no means to get a complete replacement through the normal channels.

Oddly enough this seems to be the only device that uses a 96x18 matrix as a search for 96x18 OLED only results in livescribe pens.

The only number on the thin film ribbon that shows up in a search is ssd1305u1, which shows up without the u1 and seems to be the number for the control IC rather than a complete module.

My guess is this display was specifically made for this product/company with a strict ban on selling them to joe public.

I found a 96x16 but it had too many connections, this only has 10 wires in.

Or maybe you may know of a large OEM source of such displays?

Thanks
Jonathan

Most likely an custom module. Have you tried the pen manufacturer itself?
